Matthew Weston doesn’t want to waste words on the cowardly yobs who taunted him in the street after he lost three limbs fighting for his country.

When their sickening attack was reported in the Mail, it caused a wave of shock and revulsion, but Matthew’s dignity is resolutely undented.

‘They’re not important,’ he says dismissively. ‘They were just drunken idiots who  thought they were trying to be funny. They’re not going to achieve anything in life — probably end up living off benefits. I don’t care what people like that have to say.’
